Even without selecting a college, there are many scholarships out there for minorities including one to enter the sciences and engineering. I recommend applying for every scholarship you qualify for no matter the amount because it does add up in the end. Also, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. I was browsing through the list of them and was thinking “wow these could really help me pay for college” since I’m having a little trouble at the moment. The only problem is, most of them were only for blacks, or Hispanics, or hermaphrodites, or kids with 4 arms or whatever. If there was a scholarship for white people only, don’t you think there would be a problem?
There are more scholarships for minorities because a lot of us who may want to go to college may be deterred by financial problems. But there are scholarships and financial aid available to whoever needs it (if obviously qualified for it), so it balances out.
Because of laws colleges, work places,and many other places have to have so many hispanics, so many blacks, so many women to make sure that the person is not picking based on race or gender. And if they only had scholarships for white people then they would be called races and be sued for everything.
They do this so more minorities will possibly go to college..The more minorities a college has the better benefits the college gets..But what is a shame even with all this many minorities do not take advantage of this and go to college
Yes, there are many scholarships geered toward minorities. But there are many where race is not a factor. I haven’t had to pay for any of my past year of college or my coming up year. They’ve both been covered by scholarships and grants earned by a high GPA and a demonstrated financial need. Look a little harder, there are plenty out there that are for every race. The donator ultimately makes up the requirements, which they have every right to do, after all it is their money.
It’s a huge problem. For example, while some minorities rightfully get their scholarship, I know of 2 hispanic girls, whose family is worth ten-fold what mine is, and they are attending Harvard and Stanford on full rides because they are minorities. They had far more resources than anyone in their graduating class, barely finished in the top 10%, while the valedictorian of the class is going to U Delaware because his family can’t afford to pay top-notch tuiton.
Sometimes the system works out, and I don’t want to undermine the scholars who benefitted from it, but at other times it’s total BS.
Of course white people should band together and demand equal rights.
Ghetto people, illegals, transgendered, and really messed up Siamese twins are a drag on all the rest of us.
the reason is, to try and bring the intelligence level of the minorities up to normal. it’s not working, but they are achieving what they’re after by bringing everyone else down to their level. (dumbing down)
